The Department of Informatics and Telematics of the Harokopio University of Athens (Athens, Greece) offers the following full-time vacancy:

• 1 PhD candidate position in the area of “Fine-grained scanned (X-ray) image analysis”

The selected candidate will receive funding for his/her studies from relevant EC research projects (for a minimum of 3 years).

Modifications/elaborations to the PhD thesis title are possible, so as to match individuals’ research interests and/or scientific background.

Requirements:

• MSc degree (or equivalent title) in informatics, computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, electrical engineering or related field

• Excellent programming skills (preferably Python programming language)

• Excellent command of English (both written and spoken)

Additional skills (to be considered as a plus):

• Knowledge of fundamental principles of machine and/or deep learning

• Experience with Tensorflow and/or PyTorch (or other similar) deep learning frameworks
