The IFF Graduate Employment Program

The new hires will join a dynamic and fast-growing team of faculty, research, and admin staff working on technological, business, financial, regulatory, or societal research problems related to digital assets and blockchain. 

Available Positions

For postgraduate students and alumni

  • Course instructors (available to PhD students/alumni only). You will lead academic courses or MOOCs, either as sole instructor or as part of the instructors’ team, supported by teaching assistants and administrative staff. You will be responsible for creating pedagogical content, learning objectives, study guides, assessment criteria, as well as leading online live sessions with students.
  • Teaching assistants. You will be working together with instructors to support the creation of learning content and the execution of MSc-level courses and MOOCs (for a full list of current courses see https://www.unic.ac.cy/ blockchain/). Your responsibilities will include conducting desk research to identify relevant sources for teaching material; drafting or reviewing course material (slides) and assessment material (online quizzes); assisting in grading student assignments and/or exam papers; handling student questions in the courses’ learning platforms and discussion groups (Moodle, Discord, etc.)

For undergraduate students and alumni

  • Research assistants. You will provide support to IFF’s research & advisory projects, conducting desk research, analyzing data, and editing/reviewing reports. Your responsibilities will include undertaking research in the fields of crypto and blockchain; providing support to lead researchers, as required; performing literature reviews to produce reports supporting the delivery of research projects; contributing to the drafting of client reports, articles, and data; contributing to writing proposals for grant applications.
  • Student enrolment and student academic support team members. You will be responsible for the support of prospective and existing students in IFF’s online education programs in regards to academic or administrative matters. Your responsibilities will include providing information and guidance to prospective students; providing administrative and technical support to existing students; communicating with other UNIC departments to coordinate responses and solutions; monitoring student statistics and registrations.
  • Conferences and Events Organizing. You will undertake event organization tasks under the supervision of event managers. Your responsibilities will include assisting with the logistics of conferences, workshops, and other events; assisting with the accommodation logistics of staff & guests; conducting research into potential vendors, venues, caterers, etc.; assisting with event logistics (VIP dinners, receptions, meetings etc.); assisting in sponsorship and community outreach; managing social media accounts and websites; providing customer service for registrants and speakers.
  • Social Media and Community Management. You will be managing IFF’s social media and community building activities. Your responsibilities will include growing IFF’s community, working across various social platforms (Twitter, Linkedin, Youtube, Facebook, Telegram, Discord), becoming an advocate for IFF in relevant social media spaces; managing an engaging content schedule across all social media platforms; providing reporting and insights on posts performance.

Requirements

For postgraduate positions, you will need to be a student or graduate of a master’s program (or equivalent) at an accredited university. Especially for instructor positions, you will need to hold (or are nearing completion) of a PhD program (or equivalent) at an accredited university. Prior experience in digital assets and/or blockchain (personal, professional, or academic) is required.

For undergraduate positions, you will need to be a final year student or recent (maximum three years) graduate of a bachelor’s program (or equivalent) at an accredited university. Prior experience in digital assets and/or blockchain (personal, professional, or academic) is preferable, but not required.

For all positions, you will need excellent writing and oral communication skills in English.

We offer a competitive compensation package, starting with a one-year contract, which is renewable toward indefinite/ tenured employment at the University of Nicosia.
