Researcher in Aviation Economics and Business

Role summary: The researcher will be performing and coordinating research in EU research projects in the

Aviation and Urban Air Mobility area (check our projects on our website) and in particular working on

assessing the social, economic and environmental impacts of drone technology deployment in urban and

rural areas and training relevant stakeholders in this technology uptake. This is a work-from-home position.

What are you going to do?

Economic, social and environmental impact studies with the aim of delivering effective, fair and

environmentally sustainable mobility systems by use of tools such as Impact Assessment.

Business model development for aviation and drone-powered solutions using tools such as Cost-

Benefit Analysis and Willingness-to-Pay

Conduct interviews and analyse transport policy and practice locally, nationally and globally, to

contribute to society with Policy Recommendations;

Develop training materials and deliver trainings to policy-makers and industry stakeholders.

Over the course of each project, you will be asked to travel to our client site (within Europe) – up to 20% of your time.

Must-have Qualifications

Post Graduate degree in Urban/Regional Development, or Transport Economics or Public

administration, or Engineering/Science, from an accredited institution;

Excellent English speaking and writing skills proven by portfolio of reports, research papers,

proposals/tenders and studies;

Good-to-have Qualifications

experience in a similar position (aviation Research ideally in an EU project);

experience in leading teams (consultants, experts, partners);

experience with and affinity for technology applied to urban environments;

Project-related management experience;

Experience in grant writing for public-private partnerships and larger consortia (such as HorizonEU) and understanding of the R&D grant landscape.

Appraise measures including social and distributional impact assessment, health impact

Assess the overall business case for investment from a demand and supply side.

Understand policy and governance of mobility and transport – how are agendas set and policy

formed?

Investigate ways of steering policy and changing mobility to improve its social, environmental and economic impacts

Investigate functions of, and interrelations between, public participation, institutional collaboration, mobility measure selection and evaluation, and assessing the potential for relational and collaborative planning and co-design in mitigating uncertainty.
